I. Receive an update from the district's social studies department on how they are addressing all of the state required regulations that are set in place.

Discussion:
Discussed the current curriculum being offered at CCS. 7th-8th Grade and High School.
Discussed the legislative requirements (Jr. High Citizenship and H.S. is attend a meeting of a public body). Veterans Day writing requirements, Patriot Pen, is also something our school does and we had a student win the state writing competition. We looked over the standards being taught 7th-12th grade and discussed what happens in the elementary with Nebraska History occurring in the 4th grade. Formative and summative assessments are happening at grade level. No Need for a district level assessment at this time. Discussed having a grade level responsible for putting the flag out every day. Our next meeting will entail going through the text books to get a deeper understanding of what is being taught at all grade levels. |

II. Go through state legislature 79-724 to make sure our social studies standards are in compliance.
