D.15. Indemnification of Dr. ReNae Kehrberg
Rationale:
Pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. 79-516, the Board of Education authorizes indemnification of Dr. ReNae Kehrberg against expenses she has incurred or would otherwise incur in connection with threatened or pending action, suit, or proceeding that commenced because she is an employee of the school district. The Board determines that indemnification of Dr. Kehrberg is proper in the circumstances because she acted in good faith and in a manner which she reasonably believed to be in or not opposed to the best interests of the school district. The Board further authorizes the engagement of Baird Holm, LLP to provide the legal services related to the threatened or pending action, suit, or proceeding against Dr. Kehrberg. |
D.16. Bid No. 036 Bus Cameras for District Owned Vehicles
Rationale:
BID NO. 16-036 – BUS CAMERAS, ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT, INSTALLATION SERVICES AND WARRANTY/MAINTENANCE SERVICES FUND: 1 General Fund PROGRAM: 2750(REG. ED), 2760(SPED), 3102(EARLY CHILDHOOD SPED) VENDOR: GATEKEEPER SYSTEMS AMOUNT: $271,479.38 This bid was previously presented at the June 20, 2016 meeting of the Board of Education. The Board directed review of financial information provided by bidders as part of the bid process. Legal counsel has reviewed the financial information and reported the results of that review. Legal counsel also referenced in its review a number of contractual provisions required by the bid documents that are designed to protect the District as well as other contractual provisions that could be included to provide additional protection to the District. As such, staff recommends the approval of the bid from Gatekeeper Systems to purchase bus cameras, associated equipment, installation and warranty/maintenance services in the amount of $271,479.38. Gatekeeper Systems was chosen based on compliance with the bidding requirements and scoring results from a two week demonstration and evaluation assessment of each of the three lowest cost bids and a review and evaluation of the bids submitted. This equipment will provide audio and video recordings in all 267 District owned buses.
