J.1. Action Item(s)
J.1.a. Approval of Amendment of 2019-2020 General Fund Budget - Douglas County School District 0001
Rationale:  Staff recommends approval of the attached revised General Fund local operating fund budget.  The previously approved budget was $712,000,000, which included $247,764,046 of tax requirements and $91,000,000 of reimbursable programs.  The amended budget is increased to $749,000,000 with the same tax requirements and the same reimbursable programs previously approved.  The additional expenditures are a function of transfers from the larger than expected reserve.  The transfers from the reserve are necessary to comply with state law and board policy.  In keeping with the provisions of Nebraska Revised Statute Section 13-511, a public hearing was held on the proposed amended budget earlier today, February 20, 2019, at 6:00 0'clock here in the Board meeting room following the statutorily proscribed notice period.
