Rationale:
Jeff Mount, Blair High School Band Director, is requesting permission for the Blair Area Community Band to use the BHS Auditorium for a performance on December 3, 2017. This is a Sunday building usage request that requires Board approval. |
8.4.2. Blair Basketball Club
Rationale:
The Blair Basketball Club is requesting permission to use the Blair High School Gyms for their boys and girls youth basketball tournaments on January 27-28, 2018 and February 17-18, 2018. This is a Sunday facility usage request and requires Board approval. |
8.4.3. BHS Dance Team
Rationale:
In the past, the BHS Dance Team has gone to the Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Competition. In preparation for this competition, they will need to set aside special practices for the girls to learn the choreography. With all of the many activities/events the team participates in outside of dance and in order to get the entire squad together, this needs to take place on a Sunday. Therefore, they are requesting permission to have the dancers hold their Choreography Clinic on Sunday, October 8th and Sunday, October 22nd, 2017. |

Rationale:
The Board of Education is authorized by state statute to hold closed sessions. Closed sessions may be held when clearly necessary for the protection of the public interest or for the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual. Reasons that meet this standard include but are not limited to: (a) strategy sessions with respect to collective bargaining, real estate matters, pending litigation, or litigation which is imminent as evidenced by communication of a claim or threat of litigation to or by the public body; (b) discussion regarding deployment of security personnel or devices; (c) investigative proceedings regarding allegations of criminal misconduct; (d) evaluation of the job performance of a person when necessary to prevent needless injury to the reputation of a person and if such person has not requested a public meeting; and (e) legal advice.
The Board will enter into Closed Session for the discussion of a personnel matter to prevent needless injury to the reputation of a person and if such person has not requested a public meeting. |
