Rationale:  Information concerning the Open Meeting Law, Chapter 84, Article 14 of Nebraska State Statutes, is posted in the meeting room and at a location accessible to members of the public. 

Mrs. Kari Loseke, Board President, will call the Board of Education Regular meeting to order.

Rationale:  The District received a donation from Cubby's Convenience Store for $1,600.
Thank you to Cubby's for their continued support and commitment to Blair Community Schools.  

Rationale:  Two Rivers Bank has donated $15,000 to Blair Community Schools to be allocated for the following:

1. $10,000 towards computers at grades K-2 and 6-8.  Computers are an ongoing educational need for the school district as they need to be replaced on a regular basis.  
2. $5,000 towards the Hall of Fame Kiosk located at the high school.

We are so fortunate to live in a community that shows supports and commitment to Blair Schools and its students.  We would like to express our gratitude to Two Rivers Bank for their generous donation.

Rationale:  This is the portion of the meeting when members of the public may address the board about matters of public concern.

The Buildings, Grounds, and Transportation Committee met on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 12:00pm.  Meeting minutes are attached.

Rationale:  Eileen Korth, Jackson, Jackson, & Associates Architect, has submitted an addendum to the contract for additional services for the architectural, mechanical, and electrical design work associated with the replacement of the existing Blair High School kitchen hood. The additional services were needed for this project but were not included in the original scope of services provided in the agreement.  The original agreement only included a fee of $500.00 from the structural engineer to perform analysis of the existing structure to support the weight of the new hood and rooftop unit.  The addendum is requesting the added fees for the additional design services that were above and beyond the original scope of work. Mrs. Korth coordinated the bids and supervised the project.  The total requested additional fees for the additional services are $19,250.

The amount of the property tax request is $22,212,465.00;

The total assessed value of the property differs from last year's value by 12%, the prior year tax rate was $1.171002; the tax rate which would levy the same amount of property taxes as last year, when multiplied by the new total assessed value of property would be $1.043095 per $100 of assessed value; the Washington County School District #89-0001 proposes to adopt a property tax requests that will cause its tax rate to be $1.086077 per $100 of assessed value.
