Rationale:
Information concerning the Open Meeting Law, Chapter 84, Article 14 of Nebraska State Statutes, is posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public and attached to the online agenda.

5. Public Hearing to Amend the Budget
Rationale:
A notice was published in compliance with the provisions of State Statute Sections 13-511, that the Board of Education will meet on the 24th day of August, 2022 at 6:00pm, at Blair Public Library, 2233 Civic Drive, Blair NE 68008 for the purpose of hearing support, opposition, criticism, suggestions or observations of taxpayers relating to amending the budget which was originally adopted on the 13th day of September, 2021.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, actual expenditures for the current fiscal year will exceed budgeted expenditures unless the current fiscal year budget of expenditures is revised. The amended budget is needed to increase the Cooperative Fund expenditure budget to match these additional receipts that were received from other school districts and educational service units to account for their portion of shared cost of the District's employed occupational and physical therapist positions. The originally adopted budget of expenditures cannot be reduced during the remainder of the current fiscal year to meet the need for additional money because Cooperative Fund expenditures need to match the Cooperative Fund receipts already received. The budget detail is available at the office of the Clerk during regular business hours.

7.3. Activity Fund Transfer
Rationale:
The District budgeted a $30,000 General Fund transfer to support the Activity Fund.
A request will be presented for approval for a $73,000 General Fund transfer to support the Activity Fund. The additional $43,000 is for the deficit amount remaining relating to the new Blair High School scoreboard. A proposal to reduce the budget's $826,000 transfer to the Savings Depreciation Fund by $43,000 to $783,000 to make up for this budget difference.

7.4. 2021-22 School District Budget - Transfer to Savings Depreciation Fund
Rationale:
The District budgeted $826,000 to transfer to the Savings Depreciation Fund but we are recommending the transfer of $783,000. The $43.000 difference is because we are asking for more than budgeted for the Activity Fund due to the new Blair High School Scoreboard.
