Discussion:
Bids for the kitchen renovation area were received on May 3, 2016. Five (5) bids were received for the replacement, repair and remodel work. The bids were reviewed by Wilkins Architecture Design Planning and Loomis Public School Board of Education and Administration. The cost results of each bid are:
1. TL Sund Constructors, Inc. Lexington, NE Base Bid: $354,735 Alternate #1: $15,586
2. Central Contracting, Kearney, Ne Base Bid: $359,000 Alternate #1: $9,100
3. MW Elite Contracting, Kearney, NE Base Bid: $355,000 Alternate #1: $10,300
4. Abat Lerew Construction, Sutton, NE Base Bid: $388,714.74 Alternate #1: $14,847
5. Duncan Theis Construction, Kearney, NE Base Bid: $353,250 Alternate #1: $14,603

MOTION AND SCRIPT TO ENTER CLOSED SESSION
The Board President may state the following:
The next item on the agenda is discuss bid responses and provide direction to board negotiators. In my opinion, the discussion of this matter in closed session necessary to protect the public interest.
Is there a motion for the board to enter closed session to conduct a discuss bid responses and provide direction to board negotiators ?

I move that the board enter closed session to discuss bid responses and provide direction to board negotiators to protect the public interest.

5. Kitchen Renovation Contract
Recommended Motion(s):
Motion to accept the lowest combined base and alternate #1 bid from MW Elite Contracting of Kearney, NE for the replacement, repair, and remodel of the kitchen and dry storage area in the amount of $365,300 from the depreciation fund Passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.
Discussion:
Based on the bids received it was recommended that a contract be awarded to MW Elite Contracting.

6. CashWa Kitchen Equipment Purchase
Recommended Motion(s):
Motion to approve CashWa Kitchen Equipment replacement purchase from depreciation fund in the amount of $64,593.66 Passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

7. Asbestos Abatement Contract
Recommended Motion(s):
Motion to approve the contract from Horsley Specialties, Inc in the amount of $12,950 for asbestos abatement to begin May 16, 2016 Passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.
