4. Receive, Open, and Record all Bids
Discussion:
Bids for the Loomis Elementary Building Addition were received on Thursday, January 26, 2017. Five bids were received for the construction project. The bids were opened and recorded by Jacob Sertich, Wilkens Architecture Design Planning, and Loomis Public School Board of Education and Administration. Bids included the base cost for construction plus 3 alternate bids. Alternate #1 - Add face brick to east side of the addition. Alternate #2 - Replace existing sewer line contingent on condition. Alternate #3 - Replace carpet in elementary hallways. Bids were received from: Paulsen, Inc - Base Bid $1,008,000, Alt. #1 $18,700, Alt. #2 $12,300, Alt. #3 $19,800. TL Sund Constructors - Base Bid $929,950, Alt. #1 $21,500, Alt. #2 $14,150, Alt. #3 $19,458. Bierman Contracting, Inc - Base Bid $1,143,000, Alt. #1 $47,300, Alt. #2 $23,100, Alt. #3 $20,100. 6. Elementary Addition Contract
Discussion:
Based on the bids received it was recommended that a contract be awarded to TL Sund Constructors from Lexington, Nebraska.

6.1. Alternate #1 Add Face Brick to East Elevation
Discussion:
Face brick will not be added to the east elevation.

6.2. Alternate #2 Sanitary Line Replacement
Discussion:
The existing sewer line running along Bryan Street may be replaced contingent upon current condition.

6.3. Alternate #3 Carpet Replacement
Discussion:
The existing carpet in the elementary hallways will be replaced during construction.
