More Information:  Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.

This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution.  A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office.  Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting.  The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary.

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to any topic concerning the school district – since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. Future discussion can be requested as an agenda item. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. No complaints regarding specific staff members will be heard during a public meeting. The District has established separate procedures for complaints against individual employees. Thank you for your participation.

Special Building Fund for $2,080.15

Items to Point Out:

1. Special Building Fund is to Carlson West Povondra for expenses related to track plans.
2. $460 to Ahern is for our annual fire sprinkler inspections.
3. $1,227 to Crete Glass is for window repairs or replacements.  Had an elementary door broken over a weekend by a golf ball and we will receive payment for this.  We also had other windows with cracks or fogged over in the HS cafeteria.
4. $5,953 to Educational Design Solutions is for the program called Lexia.  This is a three year contract.  We use this computer program in Title I and for interventions.
5. $1,200 to Electronic Contracting is for our semi annual fire alarm inspections.  Just no way around these expenses as required by the State.
6. $734 to Krauter-Bosn is for repairs to our steam heating units.
7. $976 to Midwest Door is for door hardware and equipment to fix some door and lock issues around the district.
8. $1,736 to Tall Truth is the fee for Shelly Donahue - our abstinence speaker.  We should be getting a grant to reimburse part of these fees.

More Information:  Yes - for 2018!  They are already starting to plan for the next Close Up trip and so we need to approve this so they can start the fundraising process.  The trip generally takes place the week after state speech which is March 22nd and 23rd in 2018.  The trip could be the week of the 25th.

The Board of Education reserves the right to enter into Closed/Executive Session for 1) the protection of the public interest, or 2) the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual, and/or the individual has not requested a public meeting. When making a motion to enter into Closed/Executive Session, the member making the motion should be as specific as possible as to the reason(s) for executive session.

The Board President will restate the reason for Closed/Executive Session after the motion has been acted on.
