Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.
This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to any topic concerning the school district – since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. No complaints regarding specific staff members will be heard during a public meeting. The District has established separate procedures for complaints against individual employees. 7.1. Act of 2016-17 Hot Lunch/Breakfast Prices
More Information:
We have attached a document with hot lunch costs from conference and area schools. We have to raise our prices at least $0.15 due to Federal regulations related to a formula we have to follow regarding the setting of prices. The formula looks at 3 year averages related to what prices we charge, income, and State and Federal reimbursements, etc. I am recommending the following changes: Elementary from $2.35 to $2.50 7-12 from $2.60 to $2.75 Adults from $3.15 to $3.25 Breakfast from $1.10 to $1.25 Milk from $0.30 to $0.35

Motion to set K-6 lunch at $2.50, 7-12 lunch at $2.75, Adult at $3.25, K-6 breakfast at $1.25 and milk at $0.35. Passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

7.2. Act on 2016-17 Substitute Teacher Rate
More Information:
We have attached some information on sub pay at conference and area schools. Several schools are setting their new rates at this meeting as well. I would like to move ours from $120 to $125 for the regular Daily Rate and from $130 to $135 for the Long Term Daily Rate (after 10 consecutive days).

Motion to set the 2016-17 Substitute Pay Rate at $125 for the regular daily rate and $135 for the long term daily rate. Passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

7.4. Act on Resolution on School District Standards for Acceptance or Rejection of Option Enrollment Applications
More Information:
We are supposed to be approving a resolution to set option enrollment guidelines. We have always just used our administrative regulations related to the policy but will now have you pass a yearly resolution. We are using the numbers as we have in the past. We have visited administratively and will look at some possible changes for when we have to approve this again next spring. We also attached our option limits so you can see our open and closed grade levels.

I would like to set Monday, August 29th as our final meeting for 2015-16 to pay final bills. We would also review preliminary 16-17 budget numbers as well. This would be a 7:00 p.m. meeting unless someone needs a different time.
