More Information: Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.

This agenda contains a list of subjects known at the time of its distribution. A copy of the agenda reflecting any changes will be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the District Office. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. The Board reserves the right to alter the order of items, as it deems necessary.

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to other non-agenda topics concerning the school district - since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. The District has established separate complaint procedures for any complaints, including complaints and concerns against individual employees. As such, the Board requests that this complaint process be followed before discussion with the Board takes place. Thank you for your participation.

Items to Point Out:

$5,109 to Krauter Bosn is for heating and cooling items. Note: I just signed over $5,000 in bids for more repairs on heating and cooling items.
$28,500 to Morrissey Engineering is for the engineering work on the south gym heating and cooling ESSER III project. This will hopefully be reimbursed 100% by the grant.

I have also attached the History of Monthly Expenditures document for your review. Some items to point out after 9 months of expenditures:

We have spent $666,465 more than this time last year.
1. This is a 10.06% increase over expenditures at the same time last year.
2. Our monthly expenditure average is down compared to last year but it usually increases during the summer due to summer projects.
3. Our monthly payroll average has increased by $63,852 per month or 10%.
Last year at this time, we had a 5.86% increase over 19/20 spending.

More Information: Dakota and his wife are moving home to Illinois (St. Louis area).

Recommended Motion(s): Motion to accept the resignation of teacher Dakota Morgan and thank him for his 4 years of service to Milford Public Schools. Passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

7.2. Review, Consider, and Take All Necessary Action on Acceptance of Teacher Resignation - Brett Troyer (MS Teacher)

Recommended Motion(s): Motion to accept the resignation of teacher Brett Troyer and thank him for his 4 years of service to Milford Public Schools. Passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

7.3. Review, Consider, and Take All Necessary Action on 2022-23 Initial Teaching Contract for Sarah Rogge (MS Teacher)

More Information:
Sarah will be teaching in the MS. Assignment to be determined at this point.
Sarah did a long-term substitute position for us a year ago and this past year she taught in Fremont. Sarah is a Milford graduate.

Recommended Motion(s): Motion to approve the initial teaching contract for Sarah Rogge. Passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

7.4. Review, Consider, and Take All Necessary Action on the 2022-23 Initial Teaching Contract (MS Teacher)

8. Executive Session

The Board of Education reserves the right to enter into Closed/Executive Session for 1) the protection of the public interest, or 2) the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual, and/or the individual has not requested a public meeting. When making a motion to enter into Closed/Executive Session, the member making the motion should be as specific as possible as to the reason(s) for executive session.
