Gene's electric has been working during this time. There is some electrical work that needs to take place on the north end for the intercom, fire system, technology wiring, etc. The cement work should begin again soon. Doors and frames should be arriving in a week. That is good news. Just call and set up a time if you want to walk through the building. |

7.2. Set Breakfast and Hot Lunch Rates for 2014-15
More Information:
I have attached a document that shows how we compare price wise with conference and area schools. Several of the schools have not acted on lunch prices at the time of preparing this document.
This year we were $0.20 below the average at the elementary and $0.15 below the average at the high school. I believe we could keep lunch prices the same for one more year. There are more changes in the hot lunch program and we are not sure how this will effect expenditures at this point. Some requirements are relaxed and some are increased. We would need to keep in mind that we would most likely have to make an increase in a year. I just want to make sure we keep a solid amount in this account. Currently, our balance is down $25,000 compared to this time last year and we have a balance of $63,000. We added an oven at the elementary and had some other repairs which is our balance difference. Also, we were told by the State we had too much money in our hot lunch program over a three year average so we are trying to keep it at that $60,000 to $70,000 range. I think we are fine unless some major piece of equipment needs replaced. If that happens, we would use our Depreciation Fund. FYI - 9 conference schools currently supplement their Lunch Fund with General Fund dollars. The average is $36,388 with the high being $65,500 and the low being $5,000. |
7.3. Set Substitute Teacher Rates for 2014-15
More Information:
I have attached a document with information on sub pay from conference and area schools. You will see in 2013-14 we were just below the average for our daily rate. Schools that have acted on sub pay for 2014-15 are in bold on the right hand side. Majority of the other schools have it on their current agendas as well.
Substitutes are getting harder and harder to find. I am recommending that we raise the daily rate for substitute teachers to $110 to be at the 2013-14 average.
Recommended Motion(s):
Motion to set the 2014-15 daily substitute pay rate at $110 for a full day and $55 for a half-day. Passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.
|
