August 13, 2018 at 7:30 PM - Board of Education Regular Meeting

Motion to approve the minutes from the July 9, July 25, and August 2 meetings as presented Passed with a motion by Rusty Rhynalds and a second by Justin Glanzer.

Motion to approve the Financial Reports as presented Passed with a motion by Ken Carpenter and a second by Justin Glanzer.

Motion to approve the consideration of bills from the General Fund Passed with a motion by Craig Grams and a second by Richard Jacobsen.

Motion to approve membership in Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association Passed with a motion by Kevin Raun and a second by Justin Glanzer.

Motion that the Board of Education should and does hereby receive the bids and bid tabulation submitted to the School District on August 9, 2018, for the demolition of the former Minden High School building, a copy of which is attached hereto; and further hereby: 1. Finds that Blessing Construction has submitted the low responsible bid and specifically waives the variance in the date of substantial and final completion in such bid, finding that the extended substantial and final completion date in the Blessing Construction bid provides a relevant advantage to, and is in the best interest of, the School District as it will allow for adequate time to have an auction to sell materials in the structure and other activities; 2. Accepts the bid of Blessing Construction as submitted; and, 3. Directs the Superintendent and B2 Environmental to negotiate the contract with the low bidder and submit same for execution by the Contractor and approval and execution by the Board of Education. Passed with a motion by Craig Grams and a second by Ken Carpenter.
