1. The regular meeting of the Maywood Board of Education was called to order by President Russ Gerlach at 7:00 p.m. It was noted that the Opens Meeting Act is posted in the Media Center and that notice of meeting was published in the Frontier County News and posted at the Maywood Post Office, Community First Bank, Village Market and the Maywood Public School.

5.2. Principal/Activities Director - Mr. Brown shared information on the following:
Class Schedule for 7-12 students is complete and meets Rule 10
Enrollment numbers for 2017-2018 are up from 2016-2017
ACT scores from last spring have been received with the average score of 19 and 2 students received nearly perfect scores in the area of writing. Mrs. Stengel will continue to present ACT Prep to our students.
The PAWS behavior plan was presented.
Back to School Inservice for teachers is in progress. Write Tools two day training is being shared with Wauneta Palisade Schools
ESU 10 and Mike Baker have been in contact to upgrade the camera system.
Plans for viewing the solar Eclipse on August 21st have been made with students 4th - 12th grade going to Stapleton to watch. K-3rd will participate at school.
Wellness policy update with the restrictions on food served at the snack shack during the school day was reported.
Fall sports activity practices are underway and August 25th will

5.3. Superintendent Report - Mrs. Huff discussed the following with the Board:
• NASB Area Membership Meeting in North Platte on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
•State Education Conference in Omaha on November 15-17, 2017
•KSB Policy Review/Update.
•Summer facility updates/construction
•School Meal Charge Policy update

6. The Board discussed the 2017-2018 budgets and possible levies.

7. Action Items
|
7.1. The Board will take all necessary action giving President Gerlach the authority to act for the Board in signing a Subdivision Plat along with Maywood city officials.
|
7.2. The Board will take all necessary action in approving the purchase house and all property located on lots 11 and 12, Block 9, Original Town of Maywood, Frontier County, Nebraska, at 211 West Elm Street, for $65,000.

7.3. The Board will take all necessary action in adopting the revised Annual Calendar of Board Agenda Items.
|
7.4. The Board will take all necessary action in reviewing and selecting an insurance policy for the 2017-2018 school year.
|
7.5. The Board will take all necessary action in performing the Superintendent evaluation.
