August 1, 2023 at 5:00 PM - Board Financial Preview of Agriculture Building Projected Cost

Rationale:  Notice of the Ag Building Financial Review was posted to the SEM Mustang school website, Front Door of the School, and Post Office  to be held August 1, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. The agenda was available on the SEM Mustang school website.  All proceedings hereafter as shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.  This meeting was an informational meeting only. This meeting was conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 84, Article 14 posted in the School Library. 

Rationale:  Bids for the Ag building are just guestimates!   Facility Advocates 3.2-3.5 million,  Architects 3.2-3.5 million,  Morton building 2.8 - 3.2 million but it won't connect to building.  Morton recommended going with one of the others - I will explain that statement Tuesday evening!!!  I spent Wednesday afternoon working with NDE Finance to fine tune the budget and  2 hr on Thursday talking with Tobin and Facility Advocates to get a better understanding of the total changes the legislature made.  For sure we can change what we want included in the bid for the building so it comes in for less whether it is Facility Advocates or the architect.

Another attachment is my proposed 2023-2024 Budget.  Keep in mind that we are asking just slightly less than last year from the tax payers but we will have plenty of operating money.  The amounts in the special accounts are not perfect for the 2023-2024 year as I need the final balance as of August 31, 2023.
