1. Opening Procedures

1.1. Call meeting to order
Rationale:
Executive/Closed Session may be necessary during this meeting for either: 1) Protection of the public interest; or, 2) The prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual, and if the individual has not requested a public meeting. Recognition of Visitors: The Board of Education encourages citizens to take advantage of the opportunity to address the Board at its regular meetings. Such opportunities will ordinarily be limited to the, “Communications from the Public” section of the meeting. When there are several persons who wish to address the Board at a meeting, the Board President shall have the authority to limit the amount of time provided to each speaker. In compliance with Nebraska statute 84-1412 the Open Meetings Act is posted within the meeting room. |

1.5. Freeman Public Schools Spotlight
Rationale:
Each month, we will spotlight a group of students and their accomplishments.
5th/6th Grade Science Fieldtrip: The Freeman fifth and sixth grade classes attended a science field day at Rockford Lake between Filley and Beatrice in September in order to gain hands-on experiences based on the new Nebraska science state standards related to water and systems. Representatives from the Nebraska Game and Parks, Nemaha NRD, ESU 5, and NDE were there to make this experience possible. The students participated in 6 rotations during the day all based on water. Each group spent two sessions fishing and one session each learning how to test water for nitrates, understand surface tension of water, aquifer study and understanding usable water vs all water on earth. Here to share what they learned are Alicia Johansen, Jayla Othmer, Courtney Holliday, Noah Fricke, Grace Mencl. FFA National Convention: Freeman FFA students attended the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis two weeks back. The entire group that went to National Convention is: Atley Buhr, Talisa Buhr, Lukas Wieden, Ian Alberts, Nolan Robinson, Taylan Vetrovsky, Paige Mahler, Sadie Larkins, Trevor Parde, Trenn Hoffman-Ideus, and Megan Nelson. Here to share what they learned is Paige, Sadie, Trevor, Trenn, and Megan. |
