1.1. Call meeting to order
Rationale:
Executive/Closed Session may be necessary during this meeting for either: 1) Protection of the public interest; or, 2) The prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual, and if the individual has not requested a public meeting. Recognition of Visitors: The Board of Education encourages citizens to take advantage of the opportunity to address the Board at its regular meetings. Such opportunities will ordinarily be limited to the, “Communications from the Public” section of the meeting. When there are several persons who wish to address the Board at a meeting, the Board President shall have the authority to limit the amount of time provided to each speaker. In compliance with Nebraska statute 84-1412 the Open Meetings Act is posted within the meeting room. |

Rationale:
Sherri Stanley
Sherri has been the nurse at Freeman Public Schools for the past 18 years. We are truly grateful for her service to the students and families in our district. She comforts students who are not feeling well, communicates daily with families, administers medications, and takes care of our annual health training for the staff. The students, staff, and parents respect her and always know she will act professionally and with the students' best interests in mind. Thank you, Sherri, for everything you have done and will continue to do for Freeman! 3.1. Consideration and possible action to approve breakfast, lunch, and milk prices for the 2025-26 school year.
Rationale:
Depending on their lunch account balance, districts may be required to use the state's PLE tool to determine meal prices. For SY 2025-2026, SFAs with a positive or zero balance in the nonprofit school food service account as of June 30, 2024, are exempt from PLE pricing requirements found at 7 CFR 210.14(e).
The USDA determines the minimum adult lunch price, which will be released in mid-July. 2024-25 Pricing: Breakfast: $2.20 K-6 Lunch: $3.20 7-12 Lunch: $3.50 Adult Lunch: TBD Extra Milk: $0.50 Recommended Pricing 2025-26: No change Note: Separately priced meal components must now be equal/greater than the total cost of a meal |
