10.4. Discuss, Consider and Take Necessary Action to approve the substitute teacher pay rates for the 2024-2025 school year as presented
Public Information:
Increase the substitute teacher pay daily rate to $170/day from $165/day. Leave the long term rate for 10+ days in a row as $200/day.
This recommendation is based upon the information gathered from other schools and their current rates as well as their indications that they will be increasing rates for next year. |
10.5. DIscuss, Consider and Take Necessary Action to approve the quote from American Playground to hard surface playgrounds and replace some slides at Ceresco

11. Next Regular Board Meeting
|
12. Adjournment

"More Than a Field" Project. This project may (or may not) move along quicker than originally expected. If this starts moving along at a fast pace, is the board willing to amend the rental agreement to make adjustments to the contract to reflect the reduced acres to be farmed? Also, how does the board feel about the financial ownership of the installation of a second driveway? This would facilitate the project, but it is also a safety/security component of our current campus, regardless of the project.
Playground Surface. Crouch Recreation is busy and is not willing to commit to whether or not they can get us a quote before the May board meeting. We have one quote in hand. Does the board want to move on this quote or delay the project to next summer?
Summer Maintenance. In addition to the normal summer maintenance, the following projects are slated for this summer: *denotes outsourcing
*Carpeting (Sr Hall/Valparaiso floor 1) - Internal move furniture, etc
Retrofit lights to LED (Jr/Sr building) - 1350 LED 4 ft. tubes with rebate of $2,700 cost us $6,750
*Gym floor refinish
*Wall mats, backboard, shot clock installed
*HVAC at Valparaiso - Internal coordination and oversight
Finish IT storage shed
*Exterior lighting at Ceresco
Landscape cleanup at Ceresco
?Playgrounds - Remove and dispose of pea gravel internally
Solar Power - I have been communicating with a consulting firm regarding the cost and benefits of solar power. There are currently grants that could realize the coverage of about 80% of installation.
