Action Items
|
Adoption of the 2024-25 School District Budget
Rationale:
School Boards are required to take formal action to adopt the School District Budget. Once the budget hearing is held, a formal "action item" is entertained with the board having the ability to adopt the budget as published; make changes to the budget, and vote to adopt; or vote to postpone the motion to adopt for further consideration.
All 2024-25 budget information was provided during the Budget Hearing. Options for the budget and an opportunity for public input were also provided during the August 20, 2024, Board Budget Retreat.

Approval of the 2024-25 Property Tax Resolution
Rationale:
School Boards are required to take formal action to approve the Property Tax Request for each budget cycle. Once the tax request hearing is held and the proposed budget adopted, a formal resolution is voted on by the board to set the final tax request.
All information related to the property tax request was provided during the hearing to set the final tax request for 2024-25. Further, information regarding the 2024-25 tax request was provided during the August 20, 2024, Budget Retreat, allowing the public an opportunity for input and comment.

Kayla Smidt wishes to option her children Newt (7th grade) and Emma (6th) to Rock County for 2024-25.
|
Corporate Certificate of Authority - Activity Fund
Rationale:
Due to Angie Welke's resignation, it is necessary to formally remove Angie and add Amy Dike to the corporate certificate of authority for the activity fund at West Plains Bank. This allows signature authority for deposits, checks, and miscellaneous items in the activity account.

Title IX Policy - NASB Policy Service
Rationale:
In August, we approved the updated Title IX policy provided by NASB's policy review service. Jim Luebbe has sent out an email with an update to remedy a few clerical errors that were contained in that document.
Jim recommends adopting these changes in one meeting using policy 205.03 as was done at the August 12th meeting.

ACS Policy Review - Policies 407.01 - 410.08
Rationale:
The Board is committed to the ongoing review and maintenance of Board Policy. Policies will be provided to the Policy Committee in advance and then to the entire Board for review/approval on a regular basis.
*All Board Policies are available to the public through the Sparq Public Meetings Access site: https://meeting.sparqdata.com/Public/Organization/415 *The link to all policies is provided through the school district website. https://www.ainsworthschools.org/page/schoolboard The policies in this month's review are 26 policies in the 400s (Personnel) section. The policies presented are sufficient and remain effectively up to date. A simple review is sufficient for the rest unless the Board proposes changes to the policies presented. This month we are reviewing policies 407.01 through 410.08. |
School Year Calendar Correction
Rationale:
An error was discovered on the school calendar in March. The March 21st HS Track meet should be on March 28th, not the 21st. There will be no school on that day in order to host the track meet.
In addition, we are able to host district play production which will be on Wednesday, December 4th. It will be great to host saving our students and parents from having to travel a significant distance for play production. There will be no school for students on December 4th and staff will report to help with the activities or other assigned work time.

Adopt Option Enrollment Standards for 2025-26
Rationale:
Recent legislation requires school districts to update their enrollment option standards/limits/capacities by October 15th for the next school year. This coincides with Board Policy 502.02. This update reflects enrollment option limits for the 2025-26 school year.
