In Nebraska, a statewide model dress code and grooming policy is required to be developed by the Nebraska Department of Education by December 1, 2024. This policy aims to create a positive learning environment, comply with health and safety laws, and prevent discrimination or disproportionate impact based on race, religion, sex, disability, or national origin. It also prohibits schools from restricting religious attire, natural and protective hairstyles, and other characteristics associated with race, national origin, or religion.
