Rationale:  (Please complete the sign-in sheet prior to the meeting.  A time limit of five minutes per individual is allowed and not more than twenty minutes per specific topic unless a majority of the Board Members present vote to extend the time limit.  No action will be taken on subjects that are not on the agenda.  No complaints shall orally be initiated against individual district employees or instructional materials used in the district.)

Rationale:  March Highlights

 

• #110 Athletics - Lots of money coming in from hosting events, state meal money, money going out paying for different events and workers.
• #334 FPS - Money came in from the wax museum and then went out for their donation to NE Make a Wish.
• #626 Sophomores - Plant sales money is starting to come in, that they use to pay for prom next year.
• #713 Foundation - We have settled up on our account with Fremont Area Community Foundation up until 2/23/24.  A few more grant requests have already come in since then.

Rationale:  Enchanted Forest is the theme for this year's Prom.  The junior class worked extremely hard to create a magical event.  The prom will begin with a meal followed by the Grand March for parents/community members to see our students dolled up for the night's festivities.  The prom dance is to follow in the old gym, which has been transformed into an Enchanted Forest.  The post-prom committee will provide after-prom entertainment at the city auditorium with breakfast to follow at the VFW.  Prom at North Bend Central truly is a community event.

Rationale: 

We were informed last week that our FFA Chapter received a $5,000 Monsanto Grant. In speaking with Mr. Mottl, we have been chosen by a local farmer to be the recipient of an America’s Farmers Grow Communities donation sponsored by Bayer Funds.  We currently do not know the name of our local farmer who chose us, but once the paperwork is completed we hopefully will receive the name of our donor.  

Rationale: 

During the last few weeks, the staff has been busy updating our Course Description Guide which will assist students as they register for courses for the 24-25 school year.  We will begin with the seniors and work our way to the current 8th graders.   Mrs. Gaughen discusses graduation requirements, prerequisites, college credit offerings, and four-year planning during this process.

Rationale: 

Over 30 students/parents have signed up for the Washington DC trip through World Classroom.  Mrs. Saalfeld is very excited about the trip and is already looking at fundraising options to assist families with the cost of this educational travel opportunity.  The trip is slated for the end of June 2025. 

Rationale:  The leadership team was hoping that May 16th, at lunch, would work to cook and serve a meal to the staff, as this is the last day for staff prior to summer break.  We would also utilize the time to hand out retirement recognition awards and thank our staff who are resigning.  

This time can be used to discuss preparations for the event.
