  1. Request approval for Cub Scouts Pack 351 to use the gymnasium at Marvin Wright Elementary School on December 5, 2017, January 9, 2018, February 6 & 13, 2018, March 6 & 13, 2018, April 3 & 10, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm for cub scout meetings with all use of facilities fees to be waived.
  2. Request approval for the Columbia Soccer Association to use the boys gymnasium at Whitthorne Middle School on December 7, 11, 18, 27, 2017 and January 3, 8, 15, 22, 29, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm for indoor soccer practice with all use of facilities fees to be waived. 
  3. Request approval for the Music City Mystique to use the cafeteria, band room, gymnasium, and auditorium at Spring Hill Middle School on the following weekends: December 8-9 & 15-17, 2017, January 12-14, 2018, February 2-4, 2018, and March 2-4, 2018 from 7:00 pm Friday until 3:00 pm Sunday for rehearsal with all use of facilities fees to be applied.
  4. Request approval for the Columbia Parks & Recreation Department to use the cafeteria at Riverside Elementary School on December 9, 2017 from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm for picture day for the Youth Basketball League with all use of facilities fees to be waived.
  5. Request approval for Destiny Church to use the cafeteria and gymnasium at Columbia Central High School on December 13, 2017 from 3:30 pm until 9:30 pm for United Christmas with all use of facilities fees to be waived.
  6. Request approval for the Columbia Soccer Association to use the main gymnasium/girls gymnasium at Whitthorne Middle School on December 15-17, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Friday and 7:00 am until 9:00 pm Saturday and Sunday for an indoor soccer tournament with all use of facilities fees to be waived. 
7.4. Naming of New Schools
Rationale: 

The ad-hoc naming committee offers the following recommendations to the School Board for the naming of the new elementary school and new middle school to be built on Mahlon Moore Road:

     • Use same name for both

     • Recommended names:

          1. Battle Creek – unanimous
          2. Creekside – 4 votes
          3. Oak Hill – 4 votes
          4. Farmingdale – 3 votes
          5. Stone Ridge – 3 votes

Once the names have been approved by the School Board, the committee will reconvene to select
mascots and school colors to be recommended to the Superintendent.
