The school district's attorney advised as early as this afternoon (3/16) to "pump the brakes" on this issue until guidance is clear from NDE and their office on exactly what direction we should take on this. KSB School Law is conducting meetings with this and we should have clarification about what the school should and should not be doing in the coming days.
The administrators & Mr. Huryta have been evaluating options to use for this purpose, after receiving final clarification. |

Rationale:
Statute 79-8,106 provides that TEACHERS can be paid during a school closing. We should discuss how we will handle other staff during a closure.
In the event that we were not in a closure, the board would have the right to require staff to utilize the leave they are entitled to in the "Negotiated Agreement" (sick leave, FMLA, 10 Days Full Dock, etc.) if staff needed leave because of the coronavirus.
Discussion:
Statute 79-8,106 provides that TEACHER can be paid during a school closing. We should discuss how we will handle other staff during a closure.
