7.1. Discuss, consider, and take all action necessary to declaring piano as surplus for immediate sale or disposal
Agenda Item Type:
Consent Item
Rationale:
With the addition of a part-time music teacher to the staff, an additional electronic piano was added to the school's inventory, so that each music teacher had a functional piano in their respective classroom.
The old "string" piano is "...unplayable and would cost a great deal to get repaired..." Due to repair expenses and the amount of space it takes up, the music department would ask that the board declare it as surplus for immediate sale or disposal.

Parents appeared to be supportive of the implementation of random testing as no parents asked questions or indicated displeasure regarding the policy. A special thank you to Shari Spaulding, Hilary Bolling, Karalee Fiddelke, Dave Huryrta, Angie Drahota, Dom Reicks, and our student helpers for all the organization and planning that went into orientation. Annual Report of "Special Circumstance Leave Days"- 1 day was used by a staff member for the wedding of a child. 3. Staff Handbook-The Board's Policy Committee will be asked to review the "Staff Handbook" this fall (October-December). The staff handbook template was part of the policy review package that we purchased from the attorney, when we updated our policy series. Now that we have gone through a full policy revision and our annual 2018 Summer Policy Update, we will go through the handbook template as an administrative team, HR department (Pat), and Board Policy Committee. Following adoption of the handbook by the Board of Education, it will be updated in accordance with summer policy updates annually and the Board will be asked to approve the updated version annually. 4. District Job Descriptions-During the Rule 10 Audit, the auditor recommended that the school district update its job descriptions to ensure the "essential job functions" of each position are clearly articulated for legal reasons. I have secured a template from the school district's attorney for doing so and have begun to work on them this summer. |
