Recommended Motion(s):
Motion to excuse the absences of Bob Waite and Bruce Mitchell passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

Rationale:
This is a legal meeting of the board of education, as advertised by the means specified in board policy. A complete copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the board room for your review. A copy of the agenda is available at the desk of the recording secretary. |

2. Action Items

2.1. Discuss, consider and take action to approve the 2016-2017 External Audit
Rationale:
Attached is the Norfolk Public Schools Audit for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. This audit has been reviewed prior to this meeting by our finance and facilities committee as well as district administration.
Recommended Motion(s):
Motion to approve the 2016-2017 External Audit passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

2.2. Discuss, consider and take action to approve the bid for the Junior High roof
Rationale:
The district received two qualifying proposals on October 19th for the partial roof replacement at the Jr. High. These proposals included the removal of the damaged skylights over the auditorium as well as the cost for replacement of roof insulation, decking, roof drains and a 20 year warranty. Attached is breakdown of the two proposals and pricing for review.
Recommended Motion(s):
Motion to approve the bid from Western Roofing as attached for the roof replacement project at the Jr. High passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

3. Future Meetings
Rationale:
Our next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 13th. The Study Session will begin at 5:30 and will be followed by our Business Meeting at 6:30. All components of the meeting will be located at the Central Administration Office and will be open to the public unless an Executive Session is required in order to protect the interest of the district or to prevent needless harm to an individual. |
