The Career Academy Steering Committee recommended the addition of a Teaching Career Academy to meet student interests and community demands. This will be offered via a partnership with Wayne State College, as outlined in the attached STEP agreement.

5.2. Discuss, consider and take action to approve the addition of the following courses at the Senior High: Exploring Education and Teaching, EDU 150- Introduction to Professional Education (dual credit),
EDU 250 Human Development and Cognition (dual credit), and ESU 275 Instructional Design (dual credit)
Rationale:
The attached documents have been reviewed by the Senior High Administration, the Teaching and Learning Team, and the Board Curriculum Committee. They recommend that these courses be added at the Senior High as part of the new Teaching Career Academy.

6. Future Meetings
Rationale:
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019. The Study Session will begin at 5:30 and will be followed by the Business Meeting at 6:30. All components of these meetings will be held at the NPS Central Administration Offices and will be open to the public unless an Executive Session is needed in order to protect the interest of the district or the reputation of an individual.
