1. Call to Order
1.1. Roll Call
Rationale:  If any board member is absent, there will need to be a  motion to excuse the absence.
1.2. Declaration of a Legal Meeting
Rationale:  This is a legal meeting of the board of education, as advertised by the means specified in board policy. A complete copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the board room for your review. A copy of the agenda is available at the desk of the recording secretary.
2. Action Items
2.1. Approve bid for maintenance vehicle #1 (3/4 ton 4x4 Heavy duty truck)
Rationale: 

Norfolk Public Schools received the following bids for a new 3/4 ton 4x4 Heavy duty truck for maintenance.

Courtesy Ford - Ford F-150 (2014) $26,035
Cornhusker Auto - Dodge (2014) $32,427

This truck will be used for a variety of maintenance items including but not limited to the following:
 - Snow removal, trailer towing, and heavy hauling of equipment



Recommended Motion(s):  I recommend to the Board of Education to make a motion to accept the low bid from Courtesy Ford in the amount of $26,035 for the new 3/4 ton 4x4 truck. This will be paid by our general fund vehicle acquisition line. Motion passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.
2.2. Approve bid for maintenance vehicle #2 (1/2 ton 4x4 truck).
Rationale:  Norfolk Public Schools received the following bids for a 1/2 ton 4x4 truck.  This truck is a replacement truck for one of our 1/2 ton trucks that was totaled during the hail storm.

1. Courtesy Ford - (2015 Ford F-150) $26,535

2. Cornhusker Auto - (2014 Dodge 1500) $26,854

3. Norfolk GM - (2015 Chevy Silverado 1500) - $27,850  
Recommended Motion(s):  I recommend to the board of education to make a motion to accept the low bid from Courtesy Ford in the amount of $26,535. This will be paid by our general fund and also partially by our insurance claim on the totaled truck. Motion passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.

4. Future Meetings
Rationale:  Our next regular board meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 13, 2014.  The study session will be held at 5:30 p.m. with the regular business meeting following at 6:30 p.m.
5. Executive Session If Needed to Protect the Interest of the District or to Prevent Needless Injury to the Reputation of an Individual.
5.1. Convene Executive Session to Discuss the Superintendent Evaluation, as Necessary for the Prevention of Needless Injury to the Reputation of an Individual
5.2. Reconvene Meeting from Executive Session
5.3. Approval of Any Action Deemed Necessary as a Result of Executive Session
6. Adjournment
