Rationale:
A hearing is scheduled to amend the school budgets for the 2009-2010 school year. As in the past, the Norfolk School District receives funds from various state and federal sources that are not known during budget development. This public hearing is held to discuss, consider and receive input on the proposed amended budgets.

Rationale:
DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SERVICES
· Summer School classes are in full swing for Norfolk Public Schools. Senior High is hosting classes for students grade 9-12; Middle School is hosting classes for 10 days for selected students and elementary Title I Reading classes started on June 1 and will continue on a half-day basis through the 26th.
· ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) funds have been entered into our district’s GMS (Grant Management System) and we are waiting state approval on the use of these funds.
· The Student Service Office has received reports from each of our district buildings relative to “Student/Staff Drug/Alcohol Violations” for the 2008-09 school year. If you would like to view this compilation of information please stop by my office and I will share that anonymous information.
