5.A. Appointment of New Board Member
Rationale:
A Board of Education ad hoc committee has been charged with receiving applications, reviewing and screening candidates, conducting interviews, and bringing a recommendation to the full Board of Education, for the appointment of a new member to replace Mr. Dave Brandt.
Be It Resolved by the Board of Education of this school district, pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-570, that, based upon the ballots cast by the members of the Board of Education, the Board of Education should and does hereby temporarily appoint Amy Barth, a qualified registered voter of the Kearney Public School District, to fill the vacancy created by Dave Brandt's resignation; said appointment is effective upon the passage of this resolution and shall commence upon administration of the oath of office, and shall continue for the remainder of the unexpired term of Dave Brandt.
Recommended Motion(s):
Move to appoint Amy Barth to fill the vacancy on the Kearney Public Schools Board of Education created by the resignation of Mr. Dave Brandt, with the term of office to run from February 21, 2024, commencing upon administration of the oath of office, and shall continue for the remainder of the unexpired term of Dave Brandt, in accordance with the attached Resolution.
