Discussion:  No one spoke in public forum.
4. Action
4.1. Approve Redemption of Series 2008 Bonds
Speaker(s):  John Brazell
Discussion:  Scott Keane from Ameritas addressed the Board of Education that the 2008 Series Bonds are nearly paid off and this puts the District in a good position to refinance. With the current interest rate 3.5% this will save the District close to $99,500.00.
4.2. Approve Issuance of Series 2012 Refunding Bonds
Speaker(s):  John Brazell
Discussion:  Scott also shared that this week $2.9 million in bonds were sold to local vendors. 2.2 million dollars were purchased by local banks and individuals. These bonds will come to full maturity in 2016. The average interest rate on these bonds over the four years will be $.75 percent.
5. Notification of Next Meeting
Discussion:  The next regular meeting of the Board of Education is scheduled for April 9, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Central Administration Building. The Committee of the Whole meeting will be April 26, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Central Administration Building. An agenda for the meeting, which shall be kept continually current, is readily available for public inspection at the Superintendent's office during normal business hours.
6. Executive Session
6.1. To discuss litigation necessary for the protection of public interest and or the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual and if such individual has not requested a public meeting.
Discussion:  A motions was made by Randy Coleman and seconded by Jon Zimmermann to go into executive session to discuss litigation necessary for the protection of public interest and or the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual and if such individual has not requested a public meeting. The Board of Education took a five-minute recess before going into executive session to discuss litigation necessary for the protection of public interest and or the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of an individual and if such individual has not requested a public meeting. The Board went into closed session 8:35 PM. Immediately prior to the closed session the presiding officer restated on the record of limitations for the subject matter of closed session. The Board of Education returned to open session at 8:54 PM.
7. Adjournment
Discussion:  A motion was made by Randy Coleman and seconded by Mitch Deines that the Board of Education of District #15 adjourn at 8:55 PM
