1. Public Comments on Agenda Items - This is the proper time for public questions and comments on agenda items only. Please make sure a request form is given to the Board Vice-President before the meeting begins.

2. Curriculum Review - Social Studies
Speaker(s):  Jackie Nielsen
Discussion:  Jackie and Judy k-5 worried about time as science and social studies only 45 minutes and this is much more indepth. Will use media for research, couseolor for civic. Hope to bring in outside speakers. Students will be taught about civic responsibility and informed decision making. The research will be using primary and secondary sources, compare contrast past to present learn to format citations Brand & Essam - Did not have state standards where do we fit in with other core class. Brand and Joan help write the NE Standards. They just got rid of it. Do not do now have standards that need to be taught. 6th grade western hemospher and quarter reading social studies content. 7th Ancient Civ and one quarter World Cultures - 8th US History and Civis One Quarter. This is the current focus. New standards we will create a ecomonic class for one quarter. World culture will go away. Middle School did not have to make many curriculum changes to meet the new standards. Time is good because we see kids all day. High School - Joan - Compared the current and the proposed (See Handout). American Government has a community service component now. High School has 110 standards. Looking at 2014-15 to adopt new standards. 13-14 will be change over year. World geography and american gove will be junior class a semester each. Will add an econ/fincial lit semester class. We will eliminate Human Relations. Will have to look at books or web resources to fit the econ/financial lit classes. Most of current book are older. Part of the reason we will not start until 2014-15. Randy Coleman? We will look at combingin reading and sociail studies by infusing into what we are currently looking at will somewhat help with time at elementary Changes fit MS/HS but not as well at elementary. Where does this change fit in for elementary?
3. Technology Infrastructure Plan

Discussion:  Bryn Gegg and Don Ferineden and Ryan McDowel from ESU. Thank for letting us come. K-12 network overbuild proposal. Updated us on a statewide system the ESU's are going to. The network student info, state reports, personnel, bugets. Give you a systmen that was strong and can evolve overtime. See notes on handout. Shared reason as why to consider the proposal New VMware - proposse high end severs. Picture of what BPS network overview. This was done last year. High School overview - ladders are the wiring Authentication Process Existing network services considered during the overbild things they had to look at what we have already. Total Cost 306,070.00
