3.1. Presentation of Recommendation from the Selection Committee
Discussion:  Pat started and then turned over to resst. Qualications for CM@ R Had 5 and interviewed 3 Listed the 3 companies in alpha oder Decemeber the 3 gave presentations. Questions of Sampson address the MFO they came back in couple of weeks. Then reconfirmed. Casper/Sampson was still the selection committee 1st choice. Pat shared rational as listed in Superintendent Report Want to make sure Deanne is very involved. They work hard to involve local contractors. Answered in the MFO about the Ephis. They did a great job explaining what the issues were and answering the questions. Rex and Jon Zimmerman shared it was a value engineers choice not a material issue. Rex and Jon did a great job asking questions about the Ephis from a construction view. All three firms could have done this job very well. Boyd Jones and Casper/Sampson stood out. Steve - contractors were in the hunt was the local influnence. Sampson involvment in HS use of local subs. Had so much local influence. This is very important as we move forward. Hospital was an outstanding accomplishment done by Caspers/Sampson Andy - All very good. What did you expect to use local contractors. Arround 10% Sampson/Caspers out of hospital about 30% were used. They have a true understanding of how to use local contractors. Jon - All very good we would have had a great school. No clear winner. Many questions about the Ephis and Sampson was part of this. When we look at when school was built it was used in South west No rain there and it was a good product for that area. w We do and water was a probplem. The installation did not allow for water. It was not a problem for south, but as time weent on it was found to be a problem. Sampson saw how it could be fixed, but BPS decided not to do this. This was a product failure not a constrcutioin/design error. 5 year plan to caluk and recovere as maintennce. This might not have been done. Again a product failure not the contractor error. Confident in Sampson//caspers the selection commitee is all behind them. Johnj - Have worked with at Freeman this is a proven prodjuct
