VI.A. Discuss, consider and take all necessary action with regard to approving a resolution calling for an election of qualified electors of the district to vote on the authorization to issue General Obligation School Building Bonds, in an amount up to $79,900,000, to be issued in one or more series, for the purpose of paying for the cost of a new elementary school, additions, renovations and modifications to the district’s existing facilities, other site and public infrastructure improvements, and any furniture, fixtures and equipment.
Recommended Motion(s):
Action that the Board of Education of this School District should and does hereby approve the Resolution, as presented at this meeting and made part of this motion, calling for the issuance of bonds and for the purposes and reasons as more particularly described in said Resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE BY SARPY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 0046 (SPRINGFIELD PLATTEVIEW COMMUNITY SCHOOLS) IN THE STATE OF NEBRASKA OF ITS GENERAL OBLIGATION SCHOOL BUILDING BONDS, SERIES 2026, IN ONE OR MORE TAX-EXEMPT OR TAXABLE SERIES AND IN AN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY-NINE MILLION NINE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($79,900,000); CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN CONNECTION WITH SUCH BONDS; AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OFFICIALS TO DETERMINE THE FINAL AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT, MATURITIES, RATES, TERMS AND OTHER DETAILS OF SUCH BONDS; IMPOSING AN AD
VALOREM TAX ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE DISTRICT TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF, PREMIUM, IF ANY, AND THE INTEREST ON SUCH BONDS; AUTHORIZING THE DESIGNATION OF ANY SERIES OF TAX-EXEMPT BONDS AS QUALIFIED TAX-EXEMPT OBLIGATIONS, IF APPLICABLE; AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND DELIVERY OF THE BONDS TO THE PURCHASER THEREOF; ADOPTING CERTAIN POST-ISSUANCE TAX COMPLIANCE AND DISCLOSURE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
WITH RESPECT TO THE BONDS; DECLARING THE DISTRICT'S
OFFICIAL INTENT TO REIMBURSE CERTAIN CAPITAL EXPENDITURES FROM THE PROCEEDS OF THE BONDS; AUTHORIZING THE TAKING OF CERTAIN ACTIONS AND THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF CERTAIN DOCUMENTS; AND
PRESCRIBING OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO passed with a motion by Board Member #1 and a second by Board Member #2.
