8.6. Consider and Approve Offering Single Insurance to all Classified Employees Working 30 or more Hours per Week.
Rationale:
I talked with Greg Long, EHA. We cannot use any other company than EHA or we will have to place all employees and any retirees that may be on our insurance with a different company. The lowest cost single insurance offered is priced at $401.09/month. The employee cost would be $93.18/month (poverty level % cost). The district would pay the balance of $307.91/month. The cost to the district for a full year of single insurance for each employee would be $3,694.92. If all 15 eligible employees took the insurance the total cost to the district would be $55,423.80. The above figures are based on the 2016/17 premiums for a $4,000 Deductible.

9. Discussion Item
|
9.1. Property Insurance Policy Renewal
Rationale:
Our property insurance is covered by Employers Mutual Casualty Company (EMC). It is due for renewal by April 15, 2016. It was brought to my attention that we have, in the past, put out bids from other companies. Is that what the board wishes to do this year?
|
9.2. Student Fees Policy and Student Activities
Rationale:
This issue has been discussed before. Les asked at a recent meeting if we decided to do anything with the policies so they agree with the actions the board has taken since I have been superintendent. If so, I will set up a policy committee meeting.
