12.1. Work Schedule for 1st Semester
Rationale:
First of all, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for the opportunity to serve Franklin Public Schools this year!!!! I am excited about partnering with you, the staff, and the community to make this a great school year. As we discussed in my interview, I will be juggling some of my family/retirement plans with leading the district and have been working some of my days at home in Lincoln. I have been staying in contact with the folks here at school via phone or computer, and will always be available for contact wherever I am. The month of July is particularly conducive to an arrangement like this as most of the things I do are geared toward working with the computer and the budget. After August 1st, I am planning on working most days at school, and when school starts I will be here every day. Thanks to Derek for hooking me up with Ron Jacobsen who has a great home that I will be renting.
If anyone has any questions, please be sure to ask |

12.3. Transportation Situation
Rationale:
Stacy talked with me about the bus routes and indicated we have somewhat of a shortage of drivers. He also told me that he has been driving this past year and it has cut into his time as Director of Operations. In discussing some options he mentioned that a mini-bus could provide some help in our routes by allowing our Activities driver to pick up some kids. While I don't know all the details, I will have a better understanding by the time of the Board meeting and have more details about what Stacy thinks might work.
|
12.4. Climate Survey for Franklin Public Schools
Rationale:
Again in my interview I mentioned that I had been doing some culture assessment work with a psychometrician named Dennison Bhola in a company called Psychometric Solutions. I have used them in all the schools where I have served as superintendent and believe that the information found in conducting a culture assessment is fundamental to school improvement. I have talked to the principals about the notion and they are supportive. I would like to have Dennison start the process but will not do so without your support.
|
12.5. ESU 11 Report from 23-24 Services
Rationale:
I received a great report from ESU 11 about their work this past year at Franklin. The report is attached.
