4. Open Forum
Background:
Open Forum is an opportunity for patrons to share their thoughts and concerns. The school board will listen, but no discussion takes place and there will not be board action. Board members may ask clarifying questions. The protocol established for open forum is to provide a time limit of three minutes to share concerns. If a patron would like to have a two-way discussion, they are encouraged to schedule a meeting with the superintendent.

5.a. Resignation
Background:
Accept the resignation of Sarah Scherer as the 0.5 FTE rural principal effective at the end of the 2023-24 school year.

6.a. Review School Board Policy BDB: School Board Study Sessions and Work Retreats
Background:
Review purpose and discuss having work sessions regularly scheduled every quarter.

6.b. Home School Presentation & Discussion Review
Background:
Superintendent, Mr. Wormstadt will provide a brief overview to the Board detailing the information obtained from the Home School Presentation & Discussion that was held on January 16. Additionally, Mr. Porterfield will discuss the district's proposed strategy to initiate a program tailored for home school students within Meade School District 46-1.

Background:
Superintendent, Mr. Wormstadt will provide the Board with an update on the information collected during the CTE Community Discussion held on January 22 and what the next steps will be for ongoing community engagement and future planning strategies.

6.f. Technology Director Position
Background:
The Technology Director position (attached job description) would be split from Curriculum Director. This position would not be an increase in FTE, but a change from Network Administrator.
We currently have an open position due to the resignation of the Network Administrator (attached job description). This position would be replaced with a Technology Director with responsibility for entire technology programming. These duties would be removed from the Curriculum Director. The Curriculum Director would still lead the curriculum process, instructional improvement, district data, teacher mentoring, new teacher orientation, instructional software selection/training, in service training, English Language Learners, and assessment programs.

6.g. Open Forum Structure
Background:
Board President Charlie Wheeler is requesting the Board to review the current structure of the Open Forum at school board meetings. The aim is to evaluate its effectiveness and identify any potential improvements, modifications, or aspects that should remain unchanged.
