5 Minutes of FAME:  APL Weekly Focus:  Feeling Tone, Level of Concern, Knowledge of Results,

1.  Strategic Planning:  Thank you for your work on our Thoughtexchange process.  You will need to go into your areas and find the most supported considerations and develop an  action or set of action plans to address the submitted thoughts.  We will discuss the need for our recommendations to be written as action plans and also the need to write a response if it is evident that our staff needs to better understand the situation and/or rules and regulations or training needed to adequately address the issue. Following your recommendations, we will present these to the strategic planning committee for final recommendations.  We hope to have the 2020 plan to the board committee for their approval at the March school board meeting.

2.  Early Retirement Eligibility:  We updated the list of teachers meeting the minimum age of 55 and met with those interested in December before Christmas break.  In order to be eligible for state retirement, they must also meet the Rule of 85.  In order to be eligible for an early retirement district incentive, they must also have a Masters Degree or equivalent and 10 years of service.  If you have teachers who are 55 or older, and don't meet all of the qualifications of the early retirement policy, the board has considered partial incentives if the number of qualified candidates do not access the program.

3.  2020-21 Teacher/Program Needs:  Staffing/program changes for 2020-21 will need to be completed and submitted to me by February 1st.  Please focus on your teacher needs at this time.  We will address support staff needs by March 1st.

4.  Principals/Director Salary Considerations:  The board of education will be acting on administrators 2020-21 salaries in January and will take formal action on your contracts in February.  Hope to meet with a board committee this week.

5.  SAA Meeting Time Change:  We have too many conflicts with our Monday, 1:30 PM time.  Discussion on changing the meeting times for the remainder of the year.
