I. Discussion Items
Rationale:
Meeting Attendees: Dr. Hoesing, Mr. Gibbons, Jeff Droge, Kerri Jo Krivohlavek, Shelley Friesz, Sally Jakub, Marlene Hartman
1. Update on District Website: Kerri Jo has been working on our present website. She has revised the school board pages and put access to online policies and meetings scripts on each page. The main district page she has several quick links to information. We are pursuing a new template that gives us more flexibility in arranging information access on each page. 2. Discussion on School Check-In: The technology staff will be visiting with building principals about the online School Check-In program. 3. Discussion on Central Office Electronic Records: We discussed the importance of improving the security of central office records. NASB is working with a company that specialized in scanning and organizing school records. This system would provide greater security with the ability to search requested electronically. Kerri Jo will make contacts and get bids and get this process started. 4. Insight Testing Software: NDE moved from their current assessment vendor and has moved to a new system called Insight. This software offers opportunities for our students to go online and practice January 20th is when the state writing test portal opens. 5. Time Clock: Questions were raised about others from having access to see other employee time clock information. While this is not illegal, it does have the potential of creating morale issues. Kerri Jo suggested we have employees close the portal once they have clocked in or out. We will put this item on our meeting agenda with support staff in November. 6. Parent Training: We visited about questions from our principals about electronic report cards. Our elementary and middle school will continue to send paper report cards home. The high school may begin the process of only sending paper copies to families requesting a paper copy. Mr. Droge will visit with the principals about possible training opportunities for parents and access points throughout the community. |
