I. Discussion Items
Rationale:
All Staff Meeting: December 11, 2020
1. COVID-19: Thank you for your continued work to stay with the Pandemic Protocols as confirmed with East Central Health District and the State Health Departments. 2. DHM Quarantine Change: The quarantine protocols have changed. If you are quarantined due to exposure, the new DHM now requires a 7-10 day quarantine rather than a 14 day exclusion pending confirmation of a negative test on or after day 5. The Governor said this morning that if we continue the downward trend, we would be in YELLOW. (50% indoor capacity, seated in parties of 8, no restriction on churches, no restrictions on gyms or fitness centers, etc.... ). East Central is recommending not move to this prior to Christmas break. 3. Masks: We ordered another shipment of masks from ESU 7. The youth masks are at the service unit now and the adult masks should be here before Christmas. They will let us know when we can come and pick them up over break. 4. COVID-19 Vaccination: Once FDA approves the COVID-19 vaccination, Nebraska will be coordinating with our local health departments for identified recipients of this vaccinations. In group 1-A are health care and emergency providers and long-term care facilities. Group 1B are school employees and "essential" workers. Our school nurses will be gathering the data as to the names of employees who want the 2-shot regiment. Depending on the availability of vaccines, school groups may be established for the schedule. Vaccinations are NOT required. 5. COVID Leave: As of December 31st, the 10 days of emergency sick leave, granted during the first semester, are no longer available. Unless authorized by the Federal Government and enacted by the Governor, any further leave is dependent on your PTO and sick leave accumulation. 6. Substitute Employees: Please be assured your principals are doing their best to fill vacant positions by either substitute staff or replacing those who have left the system. We are regulated to spend money in approved budget categories. So Lunch Fund, Building Fund, etc.. expenses are separate from education dollars. Our current fill rate for the first semester confirmed that we were short average, 2.75 teachers each day. With the limited substitute pool this year, we have hired 3 full-time substitute teachers for the second semester to be used across the district. 7. Thoughtexchange: The employee thoughtexchange will remain open for one more week. Please make sure you weigh-in on the exchanges in the system. The community Thoughtexchange will open next week and close on January 8th. We will take the top exchanges from both the school and community for discussion during our January 18-19 professional development Workshops. 8. Christmas Break: All staff will be allowed to leave at the close of school next Friday, December 18th. 2nd Quarter/First Semester Grades are Due Friday, Janaury 8th. 9. District 4-R: District 4-R and personal property items are on Auction with Chris Langemeier and Landmark Realty. The board will take action to sell the real estate property on Monday with the silent auction on the contents to be extended until the next week. All information on the sale of this property is listed on the Landmark Realty website. 10. New and Remodeled Construction: The voters approved us to spend 12.5 million to bring the old high school building into compliance with ADA and Fire Code regulations and construct new facilities for food service, athletics and fine arts. We are nearing the end of formal construction with punch list items to be completed over the second semester. Due to COVID-19 we still have many items to be completed. The warranty on these areas are in affect for one year from the time of acceptance. Please be patient with your requests of items you would like to see added to these areas. |
