Effort Respect Responsibility Belief One Good Thing! 5 Minutes of FAME: APL Weekly Focus: Carol Reha: COVID Report 2/18/2021 The DHM for the State is operating in Blue. Colfax County has moved back to Yellow. SCS continues to operate in Yellow. High School activities will continue to follow NSAA guidelines for spring activities. a. Vaccinations: The school group (100+) employees received their first vaccination of Moderna on Tuesday, March 16th. The second vaccination is scheduled for Thursday, April 15th. b. Strategic Planning: Discuss first section of "The 4 Disciplines of Execution for the strategic planning process. It was agreed that administrators would prioritize the action plans and if possible, estimate a 3-year cost to their proposals. Dr. Hoesing will research the eligibility of these costs in relation to the ESSER II guidelines. 1. 2020-21 Calendar Discussion: We will be canceling school for students on April 16th. This will be a Curriculum Day for teachers. The board will take action on Monday to amend the school calendar, but our parents need more time to prepare for the 16th. 2. School Safety/Security: Dan from Nesbitt and Associates will be out next Tuesday to walk your buildings to approve any changes in tornado shelters due to construction changes. 3. New Teacher Contracts: Please review the board agenda this week to make sure resignations and new hires from your buildings are on the agenda for approval. 4. 2021-22 Requisitions: Teachers need to requisition for their present positions. Coop purchase need to be reviewed by Wednesday, April 7th. Textbook cycle and regular requisitions for 2021-22 are due Friday, April 30th. 5. Teacher Evaluations: Reminder, second semester probationary and annual evaluations for all teachers should be done and executed by May 1st. Self-Evaluations for support staff should be completed prior to the end of the school year. 6. Support Staff Evaluations: Ronnie and Jamie will take care of all custodial/maintenance and food service evaluations. You need to make sure office staff and para educator evaluations are completed. 7. Administrator Evaluations: All administrators need to go into their evaluations and update their progress. These need to be completed by June 1st. 8. Staff Contracts: This month they will take action on certified contracts. Continuing contract date for certified contracts is April 15th. Support staff contracts will be on the board agenda for May. Suggestions on changes or improvements to the support staff salary schedule will be accepted until the end of April. 9. Board Reports: The April board meeting has been changed to Monday, April 19th, rather than the 12th. Last summer, new legislation required school board meeting notices to be published in your official district paper (Schuyler Sun). The meeting notice was not in the paper this week, therefore, the meeting needs to be rescheduled for the 19th. Board reports are still due Thursday, April 8th. |
