July 22, 2014 at 5:30 PM - Transportation Committee Meeting

Rationale:  1.  Vehicle Replacement Schedule:  We reviewed the vehicle replacement schedule.  Ron Mundil will secure bids on a 10 passenger van and a car currently on the 2014 replacement schedule.  Ron will also develop specifications and options for replacing bus #2 during the 2014-15 school year.

2.  Elementary Safe Routes Project:  We reviewed progress on the elementary road and parking lot modification.  JEO Consulting will prepare a plan to guide traffic flow and will have the plan to us by next Monday.  Dan will forward the plan to all the board members for their thoughts.  JEO will also line-up a paint crew to get this work done before school starts.

3.  Proposed Elementary Bus Route:  We visited about options for the in-town elementary bus service.  We will be recommending that the bus runs only between school buildings.  It was recommended the route begin at the middle school, continue to the high school building, stop at the preschool, and complete the route at the elementary at 8:00 AM.  The after school route would leave the elementary at 3:30, stop at the preschool,
