SCHUYLER COMMUNITY SCHOOLS FOUNDATION MEETING 01/05/2015 @ 12 NOON – 1:00 P.M. @ SCHUYLER CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CONFERENCE ROOM Membership: Lumir Jedlicka-Treasurer, Brian Vavricek- President, Virginia Semerad, Joyce Baumert, Sandy Seckman- Vice President, Victor Lopez, and Dan Hoesing Guests -Patty Schmidt– Chamber Executive Director -Kem Cavanah – Economic Development Coordinator -Shelley Friesz –shelley.friesz@schuylercommunityschools.org – 402-352-3527 Ext 216 Foundation Assistant -Sheri Balak – sheribalak@gmail.com – Alumni Honors consultant Vision: To support the enrichment of educational programs and student life experiences Goals: -To promote education in Schuyler Community Schools -Additional giving of $100,000 by August 31st, 2014 -Conduct feasibility study on possible new construction at high school building Secretary Report/Minutes – Review and Approve (refer minutes e-mailed by Shelley Friesz – December 1, 2014) Treasurer’s Report – unofficial total balance $115,037 · Received a $500 donation from Michael Heavican for Scholarships Committee Reports:
· Performing Arts Center: Joyce &Virginia Next Meeting –February 2, 2015 @ 12:00 Noon @ Schuyler Central Principal Conference Rm Minutes from January 2015 Foundation Meeting Members present: Brian, Lumir, Sandy, Dan, Virginia & Victor Others present: Kem & Shelley Members absent: Joyce Brian called the meeting to order at 12:12 pm Brian read the vision and goals for the foundation Secretary Report/Minutes for Dec. 2014 were approved Treasurer’s Report: was read and discussed Committee Report: Labor Day: Brian, Sandy & Victor · Sandy met with The Chamber to discuss having one dance over Labor Day, Lemon Fresh Days band has been booked and down payment has been sent · Sandy to look into pre selling tickets and advertising closer to the dance Scholarships: Sandy & Lumir Nothing new Education: Lumir & Brian · There are three outstanding educator nominees and one para educator nominee for the 3rd quarter they are still in the selection process · Thank you note was received from Marvine Koliha · Discussed the possibility of another quarterly award given to a support staff member possibly funded by the Dubsky family Alumni Website: Dan & Virginia · Will meet on January 12th at noon at Schuyler Central High School with Kady and will invite Joyce and Sheri to also attend to talk about the website Performing arts: Joyce & Virginia Nothing new to report Brian met with Dick Seckman to discuss updating the by-laws and articles of incorporation, Brian and Dan to set up another meeting Will put on the March agenda to revise the goals of the Schuyler Community Schools Foundation Next meeting February 2, 2015 @ noon @ Schuyler Central Principal Conference Room |
