Discussion:
Vanessa Fanning addressed the board regarding Harmony SEL curriculum in the classroom. She addressed the board about books in the library.
Patty Fanning completed the written document of Vanessa Fanning and gave a short recap of each book. Patty shared that Vanessa will be submitting 37 book appeals. Patty asked the board who purchased these books. Vanessa asked the board to consider a book review policy. ONeils addressed the board about these items on our shelves and Vanessa came to them asking for their support to have these books removed. Mick Majors addressed the board regarding the cost per pupil. Mick contests the reason for a building fund. He wants our district to consider consolidation to reduce the tax asking. |

VII.1. Superintendent Report
Discussion:
Geier shared that Frecks and Gaston will comment on the NSCAS results. Frecks shared that overall no one knows the impact on COVID on the schools or students. This is a one time snapshop of our students with their performance. Gaston shared that it has been two years since our last testing. Frecks shared scores were improved overall. NSCAS might be shifting to growth assessment similar to MAPS testing. The state department realizes the importance of growth and our middle schoolers will take the growth pilot this winter.

Discussion:
ESU 15 met last week in Benkelman at Skyline for annual Christmas dinner. Board approved the new redistricting boundaries. Upcoming ESU 15-16 Board Member Workshop will be February 2nd.

Board member report of NASB convention in Omaha in November.
Upcoming Legislative Issues Conference is January 30-31, 2022 in Lincoln. |
