2. Nursery & Landscape Class School Landscape Presentation
Discussion:
Students taking Nursery and Landscaping first semester presented landscaping ideas and designs for the exterior of the school building. The facility committee will continue to review and discuss landscaping recommendations from the Nursery and Landscaping Class second semester. |

Discussion:
Transportation Committee completed a review of the district's transportation vehicles and drivers. A Transportation and Maintenance Plan was developed for the bus and vehicle fleet, and for transportation drivers. Mechanic services were reviewed and considered. Board Policy 3530 recommended for approval. Negotiations Committee completed the 2018-19 negotiations with the Boone Central Education Association. The Committee and BCEA reached a verbal agreement including the addition of MA 36 column on the salary schedule, $450 increase ($34,350 to $34,800) on salary schedule, addition of Weights Room Coordinator, and New Teacher benefit (Optional Sept. 1 paycheck). 2018-19 Negotiated Agreement recommended for approval. The next construction meeting is scheduled for January 11th @ 10:30 a.m. The exterior building letter was installed, caulking in hallways, weight room, and wrestlign room is complete, and the elementary projectors are all functioning. |

Discussion:
The following board policies were reviewed by the transportation committee and the board of education pertaining to school transportation and drivers. 3410 Standards for Transportation Drivers, 3410-1 Driver Certification Form, 3410-2 Driver First Aid Procedures, 3410-3 Emergency Evacuation from Transportation Vehicles, 3411 Standards for Transportation Drivers, 4009 Drug and Substance Use and Abuse, 4009-1 Drug Test Consent for Applicants, 4009-2 Past Drug Violations Form for Applicants, 4009-3 Past Test Results Request Form, and 4009-4 Past Drug Test Report Form. |

9.1. Elementary Principal

Discussion:
Grade level teachers have started the next round of reading data review with the goal of all students being at or above the proficiency level. DIBELS benchmark scores and MAP assessments have reflected positive upward movement. The elementary projectors have been only partially functioning and have had limited use; all the issues are now resolved. Mr. Feeney expressed his gratitude to Applied Connective for their assistance in finding a solution to the problems we were having with getting the projectors back up and running. |

9.2. Middle School Principal

Discussion:
Mr. Schutt reported that the first half of the year was very successful; the students participated in mini-courses on December 21st focused on skills and activities not typically outlined in our curriculum. The experiences were an opportunity for students to try new things. The spring assessment window will run from March 18th to April 27th. Students will be tested in Math, English/Language, and Science using a new assessment, the Nebraska Student-Centered Assessment System (NSCAS). Our district's science curriculum is up for review and adoption; different curriculum options will be reviewed this spring with a final recommendation made ot the Board in April. Mr. Schutt recognized the Middle School CARDS winner Audra Growth! |

Discussion:
Mr. Kravig presented information on School Improvement. Boone Central Schools external review will be March 25th to March 28th. Monthly Cardinal Chronicles will be ran in the Albion Newspaper. |

9.4. Activities Director
Discussion:
The winter sports season is going very well. Mr. Donner recognized the BC Booster Club for providing the hospitality rooms during the Holiday Tournament. Boone Central will host the 6-Man All Star Game the last week of June. |
|
9.5. Superintendent
Discussion:
Boone Central was awarded the 2017 Clean Diesel Rebate of $21,000 to be used on the purchase of a new bus. The transportation committee will finalize the purchase and will complete requirements for scrapping the 1997 diesel Freightliner. |

Discussion:
Greenhouse proposal includes the construction of the greenhouse, footings, water service to building, sewer service to building, concrete pads and sidewalks, installation of irrigation system, concrete floor, plumbing and installation of sinks, electrical service to building and electrical installation, and HVAC installation and connections. Total proposal $82,883. Application for use of Wind Farm funds for greenhouse was approved equaling $23,670. The Albion Education Foundation has committed $150,000 towards the project.
