June 10, 2019 at 6:30 PM - Special Board of Education Meeting

Discussion:  Special Board of Education meeting was for the sole purpose of presenting the recent feasibility study of the Boone Central Middle School in Petersburg and to allow the community the opportunity to comment on the study. Meeting was primarily to hear comments from the public therefore there will be no public comment in the Regular Board of Education meeting immediately following this Special Meeting. No action will be taken during the Special Meeting. 
 

Discussion:  President Stopak provided an overview of the Feasibility Study documents prepared by Wilkins Architecture Design Planning, JEO Consulting Group, and Goss & Associates. Board Member Knott provided details pertaining to the Petersburg Facility Assessment; significant items mainly focused on ADA compliance code, fire code, safety and security items. Board Member Wright summarized the Cost Benefit Analysis provided by Dr. Goss. Mr. Stopak discussed the stakeholder interview feedback; reiterating the value of gathering feedback from the community during this process. 

Discussion:  Public was recognized and comments heard. Patrons were asked to state their name and direct questions and comments to the board, noting the questions and comments would be recorded and responded to. Public comment was open to the patrons at 6:50 p.m. allowing the opportunity to voice concerns and ask questions. A recess was called by the board at 8:31 p.m.; reconvened at 8:45 p.m. Public comment continued until 8:57 p.m. 

Discussion:  The Special Meeting adjourned at 8:57.
