6.1. Boone Central Recognitions
Discussion:
Boone Central Office Staff - with the upcoming Administrative Professionals Day on April 21st, our office staff, Lauren, Sherry, Theresa, Dawn, Ashley, Angie and Janelle Erickson, were recognized for their patience, work ethic, attention to detail, and overall dedication to the district. The work these ladies do go far beyond the actual job description and we are extremely thankful and lucky to have them as part of team!
CKC Director Emily Schick was recognized for her efforts in taking over the Cardinal Kids Club before and after-school program. Emily came in during a tough time last summer, but has managed the transition with ease. The CKC currently has 46 students enrolled in the program. Emily has also worked hard to continue to seek grant funding to support the program and the students involved. Musical Production Team - Michelle Wright, Doug Wright, Whitney Paulson, Jacque Dickey, all of the other adults that assisted with the Musical production, and all of the students that participated in the Musical were recognized for the many, many hours of hard work they put in to make the production a success. It was a lot of fun to watch, it was great for our school and our communities, and it was obvious that the kids had a ton of fun participating. There were many moving parts and all involved pulled it off with great success. Also, two peripheral shout outs; First, to the staff and coaches at Boone Central for working with the kids during the preparation for the Musical. Spring is a busy time with many different activities and balancing schedules is a challenge. Second, a thank you to the Albion Area Education Foundation, the Performing Arts Council, and all community members that donated money to the Performing Arts Renovation during the Big Give by supporting our school and students with the equipment purchased in the past and the acoustical upgrades to the performing arts gym. It was great to watch the Musical in a much improved setting. Thanks again to everyone involved, either directly or indirectly, with the Newsies Musical. It was great. Theresa Wilke was recognized for her caring and kindness. Theresa does a great job getting kids excited about school. The dedication to our preschool students and the preschool program is essential to the growth and develop of our students. Freshman Orientation - A huge shout-out to Lynne Webster and Jon Perone for coordinating the well-organized presentation for the upcoming freshman class. The discussions held during orientation were extremely helpful! Track and Field - this recognition goes out to all the participants as well as all the coaches. The sports complex is a busy place at 3:30 each day with over 60 students on the high school track team and over 70 students on the middle school track team. The Middle School Staff were recognized for being very caring and upbeat. They do a great job with our middle school students. Teammates - The Teammates program was recognized for their continuous support to our student through their mentoring program. The work of our current 55 Teammates Mentors is creating a ripple effect that will continue through generations. A special shout-out to the current Boone Central staff who currently serve as a Teammate Mentor! December Teacher of the Month Mrs. Jenni Grape - Jenni was recognized for her dedication to all students. She works tirelessly and celebrates success regularly! Jenni serves on high school MTSS team, leads the Boone Central Pathways program, and sponsors Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) group that currently has 123 students participating! |
