6.1. Boone Central Recognitions
Discussion:
(Stopak) I'd like to recognize several people and groups this month for putting together and participating in the mock accident last week. I'd like to thank the Albion Fire Department, Albion Police Department, Boone County Sheriff's Office, Nebraska State Patrol, Apollo Life Flight, Curt Bergland, Jen Molt, Jenni Grape, Whitney Paulson, and all of the participating students. I'd also like to thank the Admin team for supporting the evolution and the student body for participating in the follow-up debriefing after the exercise. It takes a lot of time and effort to organize a training scenario this large and this event was done very well.
(Hardwick) My recognition goes out to Jeslyn Beckman. I am beyond amazed at your confidence and selflessness. Jeslyn's involvement in the mock car accident was a true reflection of courage and desire to help others. Thank you again to all involved. A special recognition to all those who were involved with the mock car accident event that took place on May 4th. The scenario was very impactful. Thank you to Jen Molt, Whitney Paulson, and Jenni Grape for assisting with the planning and coordination. (Knott) Once again Mrs Thome and all of those involved with the Spring program crushed it. Very fun to watch with a nice mix of music and performance. (Frey) Thank you to Mr. Loofe for coming out of retirement to be with us this year. We greatly appreciate all you have done. (Roberts) Open, honest, and respectful communication is needed to move forward. I appreciate those folks who participated and I look forward to seeing the results of the process. (Fogleman) Shout out to Jenni Grape for representing Boone Central well on SADD Zoo field trip - the bus was full and clean. (Rolf) Mrs. Paulson puts a lot of time and effort in teaching band members their instruments and does a wonderful job at it. It would not be an easy task to teach young kids all their different instruments and she does it very well. (Theis) Mrs. Lindgren & Mrs. Borer have combined to put in over 20 years in the district. Mrs. Lindgren served in our preschool and did a great job working with our young students. She made a great 1st impression on these young students as they began their education journey. Mrs. Borer was part of our custodial staff. She was always willing to have a friendly conversation with each student she saw in the hallway. Our students missed these interactions this past year! Mrs. Lindgren and Mrs. Borer will be missed next year. (Curry) Mrs. Grundmayer & Mrs. Flanagan have served the students of our community well for many years. I wish them happiness in their retirement. Dedicating a lifetime to the teaching of children is a noble and special thing. Mrs. Grundmayer has a unique and special way of getting students to think about the lesson of the day. Mrs. Flanagan loves to share stories. She connects life lessons with her students. Both these teachers exemplify many of the characteristics consistent with other master teachers! (Loofe) My shout out this month goes to Mrs. Carder. She took over for Mrs. Bird as a long term substitute and has done a wonderful job. (Perone) He came when leadership was needed, our HS staff has a lot of respect for him. His leadership is cool and steady. He handles everything professionally. He is firm and direct with the students. Came with a lot of experience.
