Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication to the public and to all members of the Board of Education. Availability of the agenda was communicated in advance. The Open Meetings Act was available for review.

6.1. Devon Gronenthal - Technology Device Update
Discussion:
Devon was unavailable and will present on this at the next board meeting.

6.2. Boone Central Recognitions
Discussion:
Knott- Thanks to all the activities' sponsors and coaches. There are so many activities going on and lots of participation. To name a couple; football students welcoming elementary students with high-five Fridays, band students participating in Harvest of Harmony.
Roberts - The Policy Committee and the important decision-making role that they play in the District's policies. Frey - The refs who put in a lot of time and dedication to the Boone Central sports. Stuhr - The transportation drivers put in a lot of hours, and do a great job getting our kids to and from safely. Fogleman - The band and Mrs. Paulson do an amazing job and don't get the recognition that they deserve Rolf - Mrs. Paulson puts in a lot of hours and does a wonderful job, including there dedication to the Harvest of Harmony event. Curry - Mrs. Shannon Nelson is a highly effective teacher, and a well-respected staff member. She wears many hats, has a positive attitude, and is always willing to help out. Larsen - Ms. Pestel and Mrs. Spence do an outstanding job in the HS Sped Department. They do their job with class and grace and are very hard-working. Kayton - Mrs. Angie Flinn goes above and beyond. She is a caring adult whom the students trust and she is a true advocate for our students. Schwartz - Business Managers for all they do and for doing a great job during our recent audit. The crisis team for all that they do. |

6.3. Continuous School Improvement
Discussion:
The SIP team went through an Educlimber training. The team will have an academic goal by winter break.

Discussion:
Annual Rule 10 Safety Audit took place recently, which included a walkthrough of all areas to ensure safety measures are in place.
Device update - 30 iPads to be replaced in the Middle School, Sped Department, and backup iPads. A four-year rotation of technological devices is being followed. Hot Lunch program - if 25% of the District's families meet free and reduced status, the District will qualify for free lunches through a Federal Grant. At this point, the District does not meet the qualifications. A Federal Bus grant is available for up to a $35,000 rebate. The District plans to apply for the next bus to be purchased. Annual financial audit recap was provided. A full recap will be presented by the auditor at an upcoming Board Meeting Banking options are currently being reviewed. ESU7 is now offering a new high-needs program for lower elementary students that the District is looking into. Participation is not yet determined. |

6.6. Principal & AD Reports
Discussion:
Larsen - High School PT conferences had a 61% attendance rate. Otis Pierce has been working with the HS teachers to discuss Canvas. College week went well. Mr. Larsen attended the Region III meeting where the student discipline act changes and the transgender act law were discussed. Color Day is Saturday, lots of school spirit on display this week. Discussed future high school graduation dates.
Perone - Bella Meyer was selected for the NSAA Currency Believers and Achievers award. Looking into purchasing shot clocks, which would sink with Scorevision. Curry - Middle School PT conferences had a 67% attendance rate. The Middle School will be at the Dotted Daisy for community coffee on Tuesday 10/10. Kayton - Elementary PT conferences had a 98% attendance rate. Fire safety is coming up for K-2nd graders. Red Ribbon Week is coming up as well. Mrs. Kayton and Mrs. Wilke will be visiting a few area full-day preschools. |

7. Discussion of Action Agenda Items
Discussion:
Olnes Property purchase has been discussed over the last several years. The purchase agreement is for $85,000. The plan for the property is to demo the house and use the property for parking.
Extra Curricular Policy 5069 regulations were discussed 2024-25 Option Enrollment numbers are approved on a case-by-case basis for special education students due to the increased costs to the district Technology purchase - 30 iPads, 20 teacher mac books, 12 apple TVs, totaling $28,693. 2023 Pro Master Van to be purchased for $50,400 after trade-in of an expedition and a caravan New AEF board member Gay Sandman to replace Ralph Schmadeke. |

Discussion:
Carol Kusek is in support of action 9.2. It is important that we take care of our young women. The AEF is very fortunate to have Gay Sandman join as a new board member, which is a four-year commitment but can be served as long as they wish to serve.
