6.1. Boone Central Recognitions
Discussion:
Frey - Jeff Schwartz, thank you for all you have done for the District. We appreciate all the work you have put in.
Roberts - Thank you to Mr. Schwartz for the work he has put in, and to Mr. Curry for receiving the Principal of the Year award. Knott - Thank you to Mr. Schwartz who came in during some interesting times, handled things well and put us in a better spot than we were in before. Fogleman - Shout out to Lowell, he is the heart of our District, knowing what is going on and what needs to be fixed. Thanks for all he does for the District. Rolf - I would like to recognize Stacy Petersen, inside and outside the classroom, she quietly goes about her business very well. She is an asset to the District and all the kids love her. Her efforts are appreciated. Curry - Mrs. Thompson not only does a great job in the classroom teaching our middle school students about their computers, the google suite, and other tech related standards, but she provides leadership for our tech committee. She will be an important part of our laptop roll-out in August. There is a lot of work that goes into this process, and she does a lot of work behind the scenes. Also, the CTSO Nationals Qualifiers and Participants. Over the summer and into the early parts of next school year, FBLA, FCCLA, and FFA will participate in national conventions and competitions after qualifying for these events. These groups really help to execute our mission of Building Character, Creating Opportunities, and Striving For Success! Congratulations to Mr. Sup and FFA, Ms. Aldana for FCCLA, and Mrs. Hitchler for FFA for their dedication to sponsoring these groups and helping students find success that showcases their talents at a national level, representing Boone Central! Kayton - Summer School staff who dedicate their time to helping our students. |

6.3. Board Reports
Discussion:
Facilities - Lowell walked through the boiler replacement with Ben Stuhr and what the bids entail. All bids exclude electrical work. The scoreboard work will start on June 17th. The locker room under the stage needs an access door in order to make it a tornado shelter. The room has been cleaned out and will be painted. The District's house will be open again as a rental. Guidelines for what the house will be used for should be considered.
Transportation - Committee to meet with Trevor VanDeWalle |

6.4. Superintendent Report
Discussion:
Two custodial positions are open. I have reached out to Service Master in Columbus, who will provide an offer for us at the end of next week. Per Legislation, staff training will be a resolution the board has to pass to determine how much training is required. We serve 7,703 lunches and 15,818 breakfasts at the reimbursable rate, which is on average for what we have done in the past.

7. Discussion of Action Agenda Items
Discussion:
9.1 Five new surveillance cameras will be installed to close the gap between areas that lack surveillance. A safety and security grant that will assist with the costs.
9.2 The electrical work is excluded from the boiler replacement bids. Merit Mechanical is the low bid. They can also replace the leaky valves. Two boilers will replace the current one boiler. 9.3 The school vehicles will be relocated to the east parking lot across from the Middle School. Dirt work will level the parking lot in an effort to drain the current water problem. 9.4 Boone Central is one of the lower paying schools in the area. 9.5. Unexcused absences are now included with tardies when it comes to serving detentions. Students are now able to option in more than once. 9.7 No increase to lunch prices for students. Adult prices will be adjusted in July. 9.8 Lost card fee increased to equal the amount the District pays per card. The broken screen fee increased due to the increased repair cost for the District. 9.11 The Policy Committee recommends the whole board reads some of the policies. To be tabled to give the Board more time to read through the policies. |

8. Public Comment
Discussion:
The long-term substitute pay should be paid at the long-term sub rate from day one. $145 per day is not even $20 per day for an 8 hour day. The sub is typically called on very short notice. Angie Zoucha, as the sub caller, does a great job. Usually, plans are laid out well, but there are times when a sub comes in and nothing is laid out. Most subs have a masters' degree and are underpaid. Subbing for different grade levels varies greatly and is not comparable.
