6.1. Boone Central Recognitions
Discussion:
Knott- Madi, CKC, we are thankful for her program and all of the hard work that she puts into it and looking forward to another year with full attendance. Roberts- All staff getting things accomplished, in order, and ready for the school year. Lots of work behind the scenes to get things ready and to be cost-effective. Frey- Registration was a very smooth process and we are thankful to everyone who helped with that process. Stuhr- Custodial staff for all of their hard work over the summer to get the school ready for the new year! Fogleman- Local beef program, we are excited for what is to come. Thank you to everyone who is donating and volunteering to make this program happen! Rolf- Student orientation for all building levels, thank you for your work in that. McDonald- Everyone on the Board of Education Standing Committees. I appreciate the early meeting and the discussions as the District prepares for the present and future challenges as it relates to school finance and transportation. Larsen- Office Staff - the registration process is a very well-oiled machine thanks to the collaborative efforts of our office staff. Many people are involved to help make these couple of days smooth for everyone! From my HS chair, I want to make sure I recognize Mrs. Theresa Knust for her work to put packets together and organize this information for every student each year with Mrs. Ashley Pelster. Mrs. Leanne Blanchard does a fantastic job with scheduling. Mrs. Amy Thompson works to make sure all of our Chromebooks and Key Cards are ready. Mrs. Angie Zoucha and Mrs. Jordan Classen are proactive in making sure Activity Passes and Lunch Accounts are paid in advance. Lastly, Mrs. Jen Molt does a great job of coordinating our health screenings for necessary students. Without all of them and the time, effort, and energy they put into planning these days, it would not be as smooth as it currently is. Curry- Ashley Pelster did a great job getting the middle school ready for the registration nights. She has helped to develop the process that is appreciated by our students and community. I would also like to thank the following teachers for showing up and helping out: Mrs. Ritterbush, Mrs. Schriver, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Eickhoff, Mrs. S. Nelson, Mrs. Petersen, Mrs. Wright, Mr. Sup, Mr. Hrabik, & Mrs. Banzhaf Kayton- I would like to recognize and thank everyone who helped with registration! It takes a village to prepare packets, distribute packets, line up staff to help with health screenings, lunch, and so on! They did an awesome job and it ran very smoothly! It’s great to have it all done and taken care of before the start of another great school year! Perone- Ron Erickson - Hall of Fame Banquet at the country club. 103 people there, we are honoring past success in our building. It was exciting to see the community come together to honor and thank past athletes and coaches for their time. This event has happened since 2002. |

6.2. Continuous School Improvement
Discussion:
The Cardinal Way motto is being evaluated through a shared process with our students and staff. We are focusing on a holistic approach to represent our school and community. We are actively seeking input from students and staff to understand the value that Boone Central brings to the community, in order to give our motto more meaning and support. Our next steps will be to have more photos shared to add to our vision board, we will live out our Cardinal Way meaning, and continue to focus on strengthening our culture as a Boone Central body.

6.3. Board Reports
Discussion:
Finance committee: We had a preliminary budget meeting, overall looking positive. We are estimating for future expenditures and documenting what our anticipated needs are and working those into the budget.
Transportation committee: We had a productive meeting with Trevor to evaluate the life cycles of our current transportation units and strategize for future fleet upgrades. Building committee: We have met with a group to estimate the potential football field expansion and track updates. We need to conduct some asset management assessments and determine a long term plan moving forward. |

6.4. Superintendent Report
Discussion:
At a legislative level, there is no unanimous agreement on LB1 or LB9, educational institutions are not backing either due to the lack of open control. We will continue to monitor this in the coming months.
Boiler replacement has been completed, it will be finalized with a hookup soon. Special Meeting will be set for August 26th at 6pm for financial review in preparation for the Fiscal Year close. |

6.6. Principal, AD, & Director Reports
Discussion:
Larsen- We are ready for the start of the new school year! Still will have some fine-tuning of schedules, but this is typical of this time of year. First Day, Thursday, August 15th, will be a 1:00PM Early Dismissal with the first full day being Friday, August 16th. New cameras are operational and enhance student safety and security as well as campus security. Positive comments from visitors who have entered into our building. Curry- Teammates won the North Central Chapter of the year. Kayton- We are excited for the start of another great school year! We will have our Open House on Wednesday night from 5:00-7:00. The Burger Bash will take place out on the playground. Dr. Maher (Commissioner of Education) will be joining us! At admin days, he made the comment during his keynote speech that he would like to get out to more schools. We invited him and guess what, he is coming! Thank you to Jordan Classen for all of the work she has done with this and to PTO for donating the popsicles, Valero is donating the water! We will also be doing a "ribbon cutting" for the Book Vending machine right before Open House. We have invited AEF and Taylor Beierman to be a part of it. Taylor Beierman used this as a capstone project and it was fully funded by AEF. We have updated our master schedule this year to include Writing Time and Math Intervention Time. We are excited for these changes. We are continuing to fine tune our Preschool schedule. There may be some changes once the year begins. Perone - Power Bills - appreciate the extra commitment to the shot clocks and ScoreVision board. Shot clocks work. ScoreVision will have "powered by Boone Central Boosters" Applied Connective will come out and add audio. ScoreVision contracts go out this month and we are in the process of finalizing the details. Softball scoreboard, in 2018 we committed $1,000 to the ScoreBoard. We are evaluating interest in participating in the new ScoreBoard. |
